Look Of The Day!

Just..I...I Can't....Swag!
,Goodbye.

Bootsy Collins On New Album.

This Came Out In April But These Were 5 Reasons You Should Have Copped It...

[1. Know The Ledge
Starting off, the old funk fans are gonna immediately love this record because they've been waiting on it, you know? It's the whole funk and nothing but the funk. Also I wanted to reach out and be more of an educator. I'm trying to educate people that don't know about the funk and where this thing started so they could connect the dots to what's happening right now.

2. Say It Loud
I want people to know that I didn't just come up with the funk, you know? I had to point back to the one that introduced me to the funk - which was James Brown. I got my initiation right there in the funk capital. [James Brown] did things you just weren't supposed to do back then. He had his picture on his album. That was a big deal back in the day! People need to know that.

3. Bringin' It
Someone had to step up to the plate. I'm not a commercial kind of guy, never have been or tried to be one. I just love to do what I do - and bring it.

4. Smells Like Teen Spirit
"Hip at Funk U" would be the first song I directed the [younger generation] to on my new album. It's something they'd be familiar with. The song is really combining the elements to make a sound that came from where they came from: the streets. Funk came from the streets; a lot of them don't know that.

5. Growing Roses Out Of Concrete
My whole sermon for this statement is, "I'm out here spreadin' hope, like digital dope." That's what we need: Hope. Most of us are just going through the motions. People really give you hope: Guys like Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Jr.... all these guys that really had voices, we don't have very many guys like that anymore. I wanted to bring that to the table on this record, because we still those mighty voices but many don't get the exposure. My hope is that the new generation picks up on what I was trying to do and they pick up on it.(SOHH.com)]

Cam'Ron Ghostwrote For Mase?

Dipset's Cam'Ron Spoke On Ghostwriting For Mase In 97', One Song Is On Kim's Album "Hardcore"

[In an interview with Hot 97 personalities DJ Cipha Sounds and Peter Rosenberg on their Juan Epstein podcast, the Harlemite revealed that he wrote Cease A Leo's rhymes on Lil' Kim's 1996 hit "Crush on You." "What happened was, [Untertainment CEO Lance] Un [Rivera] gave Mase $30,000 to write five songs for Lil' Cease at that time and Mase gave me $5,000 of the 30 to write one or two of the songs," he said. "I wrote the 'Crush on You' song and they ended up keeping it for Lil' Kim album but it was really for Lil' Cease. The original 'Crush on You' is all Lil' Cease, Lil' Kim isn't even on the record." Cam, who didn't have a solo album deal at the time, says he was paid the $5,000 up front and did not receive any residuals after the song started to gain success, making its way to No. 2 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music charts in 1997. He's trying to get me to come over to Cash Money. I'm cool with Birdman. I feel like if I drop my mixtape and get Wayne on it, I'd really have the juice then [Laughs]. It is a possibility. When I was down in Miami for a couple of weeks recording with Sean Kingston, Birdman reached out to me. He said 'come and have a meeting with me' and he told me 'yo man you'd go perfect with everything we got going on. Whatever you want. I want to bring you over to this family, bring you to Cash Money.'" (VIBE)]

Pump Pump Pump It Up!

Chris Brown And Joe Budden Got Into A Very Brief Twitter Confrontation. I Do Not Believe They Have Beef, I Mean People Will Exaggerate. It Was Quick, It Was Pratically Nothing.

Brown took the tweet personally and mocked Budden's 2003 hit, "Pump It Up."
"So I'm guessing this person thinks he's mature by making references to me becuz of his mistakes! #pumppumppumpitup," he tweeted. (Chris Brown's Twitter)
Budden responded to Brown's remark by denying any perceived taunting action.

50 Cent On Writing For Artists.

50 Recently Came Out And Said He's Against Writing For Artists Stating "I Got My As* Kicked Writing For Game"

["Jay will write a song for Diddy. The hit record he got right now, Jay did for him," 50 explained in the interview. "I'm not doing that. I got my a** kicked writing hit records for Game. I'm not doing that anymore. I've already exhausted myself in that area. I don't have anything against them. I've had issues with both of them at different points. When you go down a dark avenue with me, then we go headfirst. They understand who i am. This is why when I run into Jay or Puff it's not an issue. It's always like 'Why can't you do it like that? You could have said this.'" (VIBE)]

Cassidy For Murder? #FAIL

Days following Philadelphia rapper Cassidy's arrest on perceived murder-related charges, New Jersey police officials have denied his involvement in anything more than a probation violation.

["In reference to the recent inquires regarding Barry Reese (aka Cassidy), on Saturday, May 14, 2011, Reese was arrested by Hackensack Police for a probation violation for a previous aggravated assault incident in Philadelphia," said the Philadelphia Police Department's public affairs office in a statement sent to XXLMag.com. "Reese was placed in probation violation status for non-reporting only. Reese is currently being held in Bergen County Prison awaiting extradition to Philadelphia. Reese is not wanted for any other crime / violation in Philadelphia." (XXL Mag)]

10 Years For B.G.

[Christopher Dorsey, 30, who raps under the moniker B.G. or Baby Gangsta, was charged in a three-count indictment with being a felon in possession of a firearm and conspiracy to obstruct justice, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney Jim Letten's office. If found guilty, Dorsey faces up to 10 years in prison, according to Letten's office. (NOLA News) ]

But B.G. Previously Adressed The Arrest...

["The bond, [the court] wanted to set it at a 100,000 [dollars] because of my record," B.G. explained in an interview. "But the bond end up being like 50,000...[And] so I got my other little partna [Demounde] out of jail, and he gonna sign the affidavit saying that none of [us] had no knowledge that the guns was in the car so my man [Jerod's] parole officer can come sign him out..."As of right now...I don't know how the guns got in the vehicle. Pusha's Pushing And Malice Is Pushing For Change.

The Clipse's Malice Had Decided To Change His Name Because He Says It Does Not Stand For How He Wants To Live Nor The Lifestyle He Wants To Represent.

["I'm not a malicious person, and I don't really like answering to that. I know that people that follow The Clipse or follow my music, they know Malice, so I understand that, I get that," Malice said in an interview. "But you don't want to be under any moniker that's of evil intent, that's not you. I come to more believe that there's so much power in the tongue. The power of the tongue is life and death, so I believe if you are what you fall under whether it's in your subconscious or not. It's just me trying to clean up a little bit. But I haven't thought of that name yet. So Malicious is what it is right now." (Ruby Hornet TV)]

Ahaaaaaa!

The LOX's Jadakiss sat and talked toNew York's Power 105.1 "Breakfast Club" morning show Tuesday (May 24) to discuss his ability to stay in-demand with fans and talked about being signed with Def Jam.

["That's what makes me special, I just bird feed you," Kiss said when asked why he does not put out ample amounts of albums. "That keeps me in demand. It hurts a little but not as much. You know what I mean? They leaked [my music], they eating it up on Twitter, that's one of my specialities; to not give you too much so you always want more...I just got all my publishing back and contracts [situated.] It discouraged me a few years back to put out so much music and I wasn't getting the bulk of the money. [Threatening to not put out music] was a publicity stunt that really ain't work. New artists, don't try that. [laughs] Everything's beautiful [now.]" ("The Breakfast Club")]

Recently Gudda Gudda Chose Jadakiss As "SOHH's Underrated Arist"
["The main thing I loved about Jadakiss was his voice. I just loved the way his voice would project [onto] a track. His flow, lyrics, everything about Jada's style was just sick to me. I could remember days when me and [Lil] Wayne would be riding around listening to him all day and the LOX album and we would just be like, "Man, this n*gga Jadakiss is stupid on this beat." He's one of the best. (SOHH Underrated)]

Wish Bone Gives Truth On Bone Thugs Breakup.

Lasting Management Problem Is What Created Extra Conflict Within The Group.

["What really happened was, as everybody know, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony been going through some s**t as far as management. We've been going through things like that for a minute. So we actually had a plan to do something with a management team, which didn't work out. And I guess because some other reasons, or personal reasons, I think, came into play to where it wasn't really about what's better for us, it was just better at this point in time. And I didn't agree with it, Kray didn't agree with it, and Kray - and I'ma put myself on record as sayin' this - he didn't say he was leaving the group. He's said that before, that's real as f**k, I mean, that's been said. But he didn't say in this point in time, in this situation, he did not say he was leaving the group. That was said for him, and he just had to go with it." (All Hip Hop)]

[TMZ spoke with two of the remaining members, Flesh-n-Bone and Layzie Bone -- who told us they think Krayzie is a "dumb f**k" for leaving the group because Bone Thugs "made him who he is." In fact, Flesh tells us, "Krayzie might as well say 'F**k Eazy-E' because he is disrespecting Eazy-E's legacy by leaving the group." FYI -- Eazy-E is credited with discovering the group back in the early '90s. Flesh says the group will continue to record music -- adding, "Let [Krayzie] walk away ... Bone Thugs will be here regardless. The group will not be affected by Krayzie going ... he knows where home is." (TMZ) ]
Southern rapper Rick Ross' Maybach Music Group compilation album, Self Made, is reportedly en route to sell up to 55,000 in its first-week on store shelves.
The project features guest appearances by J. Cole, Drake, And Jadakiss.
The prime three (Ross, Wale, Meek) appear on a number of songs including "Pandemonium","Play Your Part" (Featuring D.A. from Chester French) and "Fitted Cap" (featuring J.Cole). D.A. does his best Bobby Brown impression as the trio rhyme of women who think they are getting over on them because they trick a little, not realizing that they are part of the uniform for a player. "Pandemonium" is a rousing, downhill rhyme fest of ashy to classy in the world of organized crime. Cole adds extra cheese to the crew's fresh recounting Rolls Royces along with foamposites, Lebrons the latest (retro) Jordans and other objects of hood envy. Meek Mill steals the show on this one. Trina Beef With BET Comes To Light.

Trina Had Some Beef With BET And Openly Expressed Her Feelings About BET On Her Twitter
["f*ck BET......," she tweeted Wednesday night (May 18).
["@DiamondAtl muuuuuuuaaahh!!! :) Thanx doll and congrats!!! I'm really proud of you! xo" (Trina's Twitter)]
Stephen Hill Recently Came Out And Brought The Truth To Light About Trina Not Being Eligible For A BET Award Saying She Didn't Follow The Rules To Be Put In The Nominees.
["Okay, that was because Trina didn't submit a video that was in during the eligibility period. Let me back up. To be eligible, here's what you have to have: a video that's submitted and then first played on BET...between April 1 of one year and March 30 of the next year. So for this eligibility period it would be April 1 of 2010 to March 30 of 2011. She did not release a video to us in that time. "Million Dollar Girl" came in March. I think it was March 12 or so of 2010. And so she was in last year's nominees for that. While she was featured in Lola Monroe's video, the rules are you have to release a video of your own. You have to be the primary artist on it. You can't be just the feature artist and be eligible. So that's why Lola Monroe was eligible but Trina was not for this year because it came out this year. So I've reached out to her camp. I've talked to the head of her label. And actually the only reason I might get off this call is because I may be getting a call from Trina while this call is going on." (BET)]

Trina Had Been Backed By Some Other Female Hip-Hop Artists And Hill Asked If He Was Offended Any By Them Backing Her Up..

["No, no, honestly," Hill added when asked if her supporters upset him. "Because they were all operating off of false information basically. They all believed that Trina was eligible to be nominated. I love that. They were supporting each other. Far too many times in hip hop people want to tear each other down or not support each other. So even though it was at our expense, you have all these women supporting each other in the hip hop field. So hopefully people will feel better once the truth comes out, once they realize that there was no eligibility there. But absent that, if them not knowing the rules fostered some camaraderie, I'm all in." (BET)]

Cali Swagg "Show Them Cats How To Do That"

Cali Swag Recently Made A Tribute Song To Fallen Member "M-Bone" Called "Do That".

Gudda Says Kiss Is Underrated.

[I would name Jadakiss for SOHH Underrated. He's the first rapper that comes to mind. I'm from the South but on some real sh*t, I was raised off what Jadakiss was saying. That's that era that I'm from right there, the Jadakiss era. Coming up, it was all about Jadakiss, The LOX, Beanie Sigel, State Property, all of that stuff is what helped mold me into what I am today.

I always thought he was in the top three best rappers of all time. I just feel like people respect him, a lot of artists respect him but he still doesn't get all of the respect he deserves in the rap game. So Jadakiss is always gonna be that underrated rapper to me.

The main thing I loved about Jadakiss was his voice.

This was back when we were young, about 17 years old. We would be riding around and thinking, "These dudes are sick." I wasn't even rapping at that time. I used to be like, "These dudes are sick" and me and Wayne would talk about these guys all day. He'll always be one of those underrated artists to me that the game just sleeps on.(SOHH.com)]
